Ashwagandha. You already know the name — it is on every shelf and every supplement page. That is the trouble. A root this sought-after draws every kind of seller, and most of what reaches the market is chosen for price, not for what it is.

I have seen what is sold, and I would not put it in a jar. Whole root arrives mixed — pieces gone dark, hollow at the core, soft where they should be firm — and all of that is set aside by hand; it never reaches you. What remains is washed, dried, and looked over once more, by sight and by smell, until what is left is clean and whole: the way sound Ashwagandha root is meant to be.

The name itself tells you what matters. Ashwa — horse. Gandha — smell, and beneath the smell, essence: the grounding, earthy essence the old texts named. The strength of a horse, carried in a root. That strength lives in the root taken whole, the way Ayurveda has always used it — not in an extract narrowed down to a single measured fraction.
On why the whole root, and not the extract, is worth understanding.

In Ayurveda this root is a rasayana — taken steadily, over time, to support the body's strength and the mind's steadiness through ordinary strain. It asks for patience. Like all roots, it gives slowly, and what it builds, it builds to last.

Ingredients

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

No additives. No preservatives.

Capsule shell: vegan HPMC

How to use

Standard daily use:
- Powder form

3 grams, once or twice a day.

- Capsule form
4 capsules, once or twice a day.

Traditionally taken with warm milk — and a little honey or ghee, if you like. Milk is its oldest companion; it carries the root gently and suits its evening, settling nature. Warm water works too.

Best taken as a steady daily practice, not now and then.

Confirm your own dosage with your Ayurvedic practitioner.

Benefits

In Ayurveda, Ashwaandha is considered a rasayana — a root taken over time to rebuild strength and steadiness.

Traditionally used to help the body hold up under daily stress and strain.

Valued for steadying the mind and supporting calm, settled sleep.

Long taken to support physical strength, stamina, and energy.

Nourishing to the nerves and the reproductive system, in the classical texts.

Warming and grounding by nature — suited to dryness, depletion, and the wear that comes with age.

Cautions

Not for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

If you have a thyroid or autoimmune condition, or take medication for blood sugar, blood pressure, or the immune system, speak with your physician before starting.

Set it aside well before any planned surgery.

Mild drowsiness or stomach upset may occur in the first few days as the body adjusts — this usually settles on its own.

Take it steadily and sensibly; if anything feels off, stop and seek advice.
